Subfloor excavation involves removing soil from beneath an existing building while maintaining the integrity of the structure above. It’s commonly required when clearance beneath a home is insufficient, when foundations need to be accessed or reinforced, or when ground levels must be adjusted to correct movement or prepare for further works.
In older Melbourne homes especially, low-clearance subfloors, reactive clay soils, and historic construction methods often mean excavation is unavoidable before meaningful structural improvements can be made.

Mike did an excellent job with the house levelling and re-stumping at my place. He was professional, reliable, and clearly very experienced. He took the time to explain everything clearly, and the quality of his work really shows. The house feels solid and level now, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend Mike if you need re-stumping or foundation work done!

"Communication" - this is what was significant for this job to go smoothly. Mike is a professional, he does not disappear if things went pear shaped, he found a solution. There may have been issues during the job however open communication meant that Mike presented a solution that would fix the problem within tolerance, considering the house is over 40 years old.
